Philip and Robert Latham letter, 1813 Oct. 5.

This letter was written from Russellville, October 5, 1813, by the Lathams and Joseph B. Bigger, who were officers of the Sixth Regiment of the Kentucky Volunteer Militia. The letter was sent to General Richard Hickman, then lieutenant governor of Kentucky. It asked that the Sixth be paid for service under Major General Samuel Hopkins on the Wabash River. The writers noted that all other regiments had been paid and that they should not be penalized for the absence of their paymaster, who was in active service.
